Raising Digital Engagement at KS3
Working with schools across the Heart of the Southwest to digitally engage KS3 pupils by enhancing curriculum learning and inspiring pupils to consider the benefits of a digital career
Welcome to Raising Digital Engagement at KS3
Raising Digital Engagement at KS3 is one of three programmes being delivered through the Heart of Southwest Digital Skills Series. All programmes are managed and delivered by Devon County Council.
Raising Digital Engagement at KS3……What’s it all about? Digital careers offer a range of exciting opportunities to young people. It is important that we encourage pupils to consider and understand the importance of digital skills to transfer into their career. Working with schools across the Heart of the South West we aim to help enrich and enhance the computing curriculum by offering access to a breadth of free activities and resources. Schools that engage with the programme will be recognised for their dedication to raising digital aspirations within their school through our bespoke digital badge scheme.
What’s on offer
All resources that can be accessed here align with the National Centre for Computing Education (NCCE) lesson order and are available for you to access throughout the programme. Resources support the year 7, 8 and 9 computing curriculum.
Throughout the programme we will be running a series of competitions. All our competitions will offer a chance for your school and pupils to win prizes and will be judged by our digital pioneers.
Engage with our bespoke Esports offer designed by some of our local colleges and educate your students on the different digital careers that can be achieved.
Access a suite of local employer videos that connect the computing curriculum to real world situations.
Reward and recognition
Access a range of Digital badges throughout the programme to recognise your schools, pupils and teachers participation and use of resources from the programme.
