Raising Digital Engagement at KS3

Over the last couple of months, we have been working with a local employer to offer you a set of session plans which support you to teach pupils how to create their own website using WIX. The comprehensive set of session plans including tutorial videos, presentations and PDF documents will equip you with everything you need to guide your pupils through the process. Through this resource pack you will have access to a total of 6 hours of content which we have broken down into 1-hour sessions to try and make it as convenient as possible to integrate this opportunity into your school day. We have also ensured that there are key links throughout the content to career opportunities within website design and further training routes to pursuing a career within this.

WIX is a free tool that pupils can use to create their own website. Whilst some charges do apply, all content that has been created only uses resources within WIX that are free of charge. It is important to be aware that pupils will need to be aged 13+ to create their own account in WIX however we appreciate that this is for pupils in year 7-9 and therefore they may be younger than 13. To overcome this, it is suggested that as a teacher you create a WIX account and provide access to this account to your students.
