Enter our latest competition, my digital journey

We are inviting all schools enrolled on the programme to get involved in our final competition, my digital journey. For this competition we are asking students to create a story, storyboard, short animation or presentation to showcase how the programme has impacted their awareness, understanding and use of digital tools. We want to hear about the opportunities pupils have engaged in through the programme and how they have inspired them. The competition closes on Friday 30th May 2025. We will be choosing 10 winners who will each receive a £25 gift voucher. Winners will be announced on Monday 9th June 2025.

Future Filmmakers Competition

This competition is now closed.

Thank you to everyone who submitted an entry.

We are thrilled to share the incredible experience of the Future Filmmakers competition winners at Hugh Sexey School. Feeback from teacher, David Jackson stated that the day was a resounding success, thanking the dedication and enthusiasm of Tom and Milly from Ocean City Media.

Tom from Ocean City Media, kicked off the day with an inspiring hour-long session on Careers in Filmmaking, engaging nearly 30 pupils from Years 7 and 8. The students were captivated by his insights and stories from the industry. Following this, the team spent the entire day filming, capturing the essence of the students’ creativity and hard work.

The winning team had an unforgettable experience, and they are eagerly anticipating the final promotional video which will highlight the students’ journey and the power of digital storytelling.

Teacher, David Jackson shared: “We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Raising Digital Engagement at KS3 initiative for organizing this competition and providing such a fantastic opportunity for our students. It was truly an awesome experience for the lucky winners.”

Amazing Animators storyboard competition

This competition has now closed.

Thank you to everyone who participated in this competition.

we have a fantastic response and were really impressed with all the designs. It was a tough decision to pick a winner as all of the designs delivered important messages about recycling in a fun and creative way. It was wonderful to see so many talented young people with an interest in animation design. However after much deliberation between the Raising Digital Engagement team, waste team and Pushed Ltd we have decided our winner.

Congratulations to Candice Leung who is 11 from Bishop Fox school. Candice demonstrated excellent drawings and a clear message about the importance of recycling. What stood out for us was the clear messaging about making a conscious decision about where to put your litter and the big impact this can have. We are looking forward to seeing the storyboard come to life as Candice works with students from City College Plymouth to turn their idea into a real-life animation. We will be sharing the animation amongst our environmental colleagues who will be ensuring this is publicised amongst their networks to encourage and raise awareness of the importance of recycling.

Candice said: “I am over the moon to have won the competition and I’m really pleased the judges thought my design was good enough to win”.

Alan Chandler,  Computer Science and IT lead at Bishop Fox school said, “We are absolutely delighted that Candice’s storyboard has been chosen as the winning entry.  Thank you to all the students who entered, their handwork, creativity and passion for our environment. We are very proud of Candice, a fantastic storyboard, and a worthy winner!”
